Nancy Mitchell Kochli
Nancy’s weaving journey began in 1988 when a friend taught her to make an egg basket. Over the years, she has taken numerous basketry classes with the intention to expand skills while studying under local and nationally recognized artisans. Inspired by the beauty found in nature, Nancy seeks to create baskets that combine both form and function. She enjoys working with her hands to create 3-dimensional functional art, including gourd vessels, hand-woven wearable fabrics, and baskets, which are her first love.
Class Description: This basket, a version of the Wool Drying Basket, will make a beautiful addition to vour home. Participants of all levels will enjoy weaving this basket, which features a reinforced solid bottom and feet. Emphasis will be on maintaining correct shape as the sides of the basket are woven. Participants are encouraged to bring dyed reed, if they desire.
